Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Within Bicol ATZ¶
VFR Area Chart¶
General Procedures for VFR Flights¶
The following air traffic procedures shall apply to all VFR flights when entering, leaving, operating, or transiting the vicinity of Bicol Aerodrome Traffic Zone.
- All departing VFR flights shall maintain a listening watch on Bicol Tower frequency 118.7 MHZ until 20 NM.
- All arriving VFR flights shall establish contact and remain on listening watch with Bicol Tower frequency 118.7 MHZ approaching 20 NM inbound the station.
- Air Traffic Control instructions shall be acknowledged and complied with.
- IFR flights shall have priority over VFR flights.
- Any deviation from the procedures shall be advised without delay to Bicol Tower.
VFR Departures¶
South Bound: After airborne, turn right and fly on a southerly direction towards west of PUTIAO. Continue towards PILAR or proceed as instructed by ATC. Advise switching frequency.
Northwest Bound: After airborne, make a right downwind departure. Request clearance to cross final approach RWY 05 and fly towards abeam CEMENT PLANT. Continue towards GUINOBATAN. Proceed Northwest towards LIGAO then towards POLANGUI or proceed as instructed by ATC. Advise switching frequency.
South Bound: After airborne, turn left and fly on a southerly direction towards West of PUTIAO. Continue towards PILAR or proceed as instructed by ATC. Advise switching frequency.
Northwest Bound: After airborne, turn right towards abeam CEMENT PLANT. Continue towards GUINOBATAN. Proceed Northwest towards LIGAO then towards POLANGUI or proceed as instructed by ATC. Advise switching frequency.
VFR Arrivals¶
From the South: Report abeam SORSOGON BAY. Continue flying towards east of PUTIAO. Request clearance to join right downwind RWY 05 or proceed as instructed by ATC.
From the Northwest: Report approaching POLANGUI. Continue towards LIGAO, towards GUINOBATAN, then towards CAMALIG BYPASS. Proceed South and request clearance to cross midfield to join right downwind RWY 05 or proceed as instructed by ATC.
From the South: Report abeam SORSOGON BAY. Continue flying towards east of PUTIAO. Request clearance to join left downwind RWY 23 or proceed as instructed by ATC.
From the Northwest: Report approaching POLANGUI. Continue towards LIGAO, towards GUINOBATAN, then towards CAMALIG BYPASS. Proceed South and request clearance to cross midfield to join left downwind RWY 23 or proceed as instructed by ATC.
