Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Within Caticlan ATZ/CTR

  1. All VFR aircraft must be able to tune to frequencies in the VATSIM network, including, but not limited to:

    1. 118.600 MHz (RPVE_TWR)
    2. 122.400 Mhz (RPVK_APP)
    3. 121.500 MHz (Emergency Frequency)

  2. All arriving VFR flights shall establish contact and remain on listening watch with RPVE_TWR upon entering the Caticlan CTR, or establish two-way radio contact 10 NM to the airport

  3. All departing VFR flights shall maintain listening watch on RPVE_TWR until outside the ATZ (5 NM from ARP)
  4. IFR flights shall have priority over VFR flights
  5. Maintain not above 2000 FT within the Caticlan CTR (10 NM radius)
  6. VFR helicopter flights shall not operate within Caticlan ATZ when ceiling is less than 1000 FT or ground visibility is less than 1.5 KM (1 NM), except when clearance is obtained from RPVE_TWR
  7. Any deviation from departure / arrival procedures shall be subject to ATC approval

Warning

Pilots shall be aware of the terrain in the vicinity of the airport. A hill exists with a 150.80 M perpendicular distance from the runway center line to the right of RWY 06, causing turbulence on short final approach. Exercise caution during landing and take-off due to presence of birds in the vicinity of the airport year-round.

Northwest bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, make a downwind departure and proceed towards West of BORACAY ISLAND.
  2. Fly on a northwesterly direction towards SIBOLON ISLAND.
  3. Maintain 1500 FT until 15 NM.
  4. Report 15 NM or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  5. Advise switching frequency.

Northeast bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, turn left and fly towards abeam East of CARABAO ISLAND.
  2. Proceed towards abeam East of CALATONG.
  3. Continue towards abeam East of ROMBLON AP or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  4. Advise switching frequency.

Southeast bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, turn right and fly towards HABANA following the shoreline.
  2. Proceed towards NABAS.
  3. Continue towards IBAJAY or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  4. Advise switching frequency.

Northwest bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, turn right and fly on a northwesterly direction towards SIBOLON ISLAND.
  2. Maintain 1500 FT until 15 NM.
  3. Report 15 NM or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  4. Advise switching frequency.

Northeast bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, make a downwind departure and fly towards abeam East of CARABAO ISLAND.
  2. Proceed towards abeam East of CALATONG.
  3. Continue towards abeam East of ROMBLON AP or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  4. Advise switching frequency.

Southeast bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, make a downwind departure.
  2. Request to cross final approach RWY 24 and fly towards HABANA.
  3. Follow the shoreline towards NABAS.
  4. Continue towards IBAJAY or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  5. Advise switching frequency.

VFR Arrivals

From the Northwest

1. Report approaching SIBOLON ISLAND.
2. Proceed on a southeasterly direction towards abeam West of BORACAY ISLAND.
3. Report 15 NM at 1500 FT.
4. Request clearance to join downwind RWY 06 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the Northeast

1. Report approaching abeam East of ROMBLON AP.
2. Continue towards abeam East of CALATONG.
3. Proceed towards abeam East of CARABAO ISLAND.
4. Request clearance to join downwind RWY 06 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the Southeast

1. Report approaching IBAJAY.
2. Proceed towards NABAS following the shoreline.
3. Continue following the shoreline towards HABANA.
4. Request to cross midfield to join downwind RWY 06 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the Northwest

1. Report approaching SIBOLON ISLAND.
2. Proceed on a southeasterly direction towards West of BORACAY ISLAND.
3. Report 15 NM at 1500 FT.
4. Request clearance to join downwind RWY 24 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the Northeast

1. Report approaching abeam East of ROMBLON AP.
2. Continue towards abeam East of CALATONG.
3. Proceed towards abeam East of CARABAO ISLAND.
4. Request clearance to join downwind RWY 24 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the Southeast

1. Report approaching IBAJAY.
2. Fly over water towards abeam NABAS.
3. Continue towards HABANA.
4. Request to cross midfield to join downwind RWY 24 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

VFR Transiting Flights

  1. Report approaching SIBOLON ISLAND.
  2. Proceed on a southeasterly direction towards West of BORACAY ISLAND.
  3. Report 15 NM at 1500 FT.
  4. Request to cross overhead the station.
  5. Proceed towards HABANA.
  6. Follow the shoreline towards NABAS.
  7. Continue towards IBAJAY or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  8. Advise switching frequency.

  2. Proceed towards NABAS.
  3. Continue towards HABANA.
  4. Request to cross overhead the station.
  5. Fly northwestward towards SIBOLON ISLAND.
  6. Maintain 1500 FT until 15 NM.

VFR flights shall pass abeam East of the airport 15 NM or beyond from ARP.
