Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Within Roxas ATZ/CTR

  1. All VFR aircraft must be able to tune to frequencies in the VATSIM network, including, but not limited to:

    1. 118.500 MHz (RPVR_TWR)
    2. 121.500 MHz (Emergency Frequency)

  2. All arriving VFR flights shall establish contact and remain on listening watch with Roxas Tower upon entering the Roxas CTR, or establish two-way radio contact 20 NM to the airport

  3. All departing VFR flights shall maintain listening watch on Roxas Tower until 20 NM from the airport
  4. IFR flights shall have priority over VFR flights
  5. Maintain not above 2000 FT within the Roxas ATZ (5 NM radius) and not above 1500 FT within the Roxas CTR (10 NM radius)
  6. VFR helicopter flights shall not take-off, land, or enter the Roxas ATZ when ceiling is less than 500 FT or ground visibility is less than 1.5 KM (1 NM), except when clearance is obtained from Roxas Tower
  7. Any deviation from departure / arrival procedures shall be subject to ATC approval

Warning

Pilots shall be aware of bird activity in the vicinity of the airport. The airport is located approximately 300 M from the coast, with nearby fish ponds and agricultural lands attracting a variety of resident and migratory bird species. Exercise extra caution during landing and take-off on RWY 14/32, particularly during the migratory season (October to March) when bird activity is at its peak.

VFR Departures

Southeast bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, fly towards NHA.
  2. Continue towards abeam East of PONTEVEDRA.
  3. Keep flying towards HIPONA or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  4. Advise switching frequency.

South bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, turn right and fly southward towards LOCTUGAN.
  2. Continue flying towards PANIT-AN.
  3. Keep flying southwestward towards DUMARAO.
  4. Switch to Iloilo Tower frequency on 123.4 MHz or 118.2 MHz or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  5. Advise switching frequency.

West bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, make a left downwind departure.
  2. Request to cross final approach RWY 14 towards CULASI.
  3. Fly over water towards MABAAY ISLAND.
  4. Continue to fly over water and proceed towards abeam North of DUMAGUIT PORT.
  5. Switch to Kalibo Tower frequency on 124.2 MHz or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  6. Advise switching frequency.

Southeast bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, make a right downwind departure and fly towards abeam NHA.
  2. Continue towards abeam East of PONTEVEDRA.
  3. Proceed towards HIPONA or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  4. Advise switching frequency.

South bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, make a right downwind departure.
  2. Request clearance to cross final approach RWY 32 and fly southward towards LOCTUGAN.
  3. Continue towards PANIT-AN.
  4. Proceed towards DUMARAO.
  5. Switch to Iloilo Tower frequency on 123.4 MHz or 118.2 MHz or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  6. Advise switching frequency.

West bound aircraft

  1. After airborne, turn left towards CULASI.
  2. Fly over water towards MABAAY ISLAND.
  3. Proceed towards abeam North of DUMAGUIT PORT.
  4. Switch to Kalibo Tower frequency on 124.2 MHz or proceed as instructed by ATC.
  5. Advise switching frequency.

VFR Arrivals

From the Southeast

1. Report approaching BALASAN.
2. Keep flying on a northwesterly direction towards PILAR.
3. Continue towards JAMUL-AWON.
4. Request clearance to join left downwind RWY 14 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the South

1. Report approaching MAAYON.
2. Continue flying northward towards abeam West of PONTEVEDRA.
3. Request to cross final approach RWY 32 towards NHA.
4. Request clearance to join left downwind RWY 14 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the Southwest

1. Report approaching DUMALAG.
2. Continue flying on a northeasterly direction towards DAO.
3. Proceed towards LOCTUGAN.
4. Request to cross final approach RWY 32 to join left downwind RWY 14 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the West

1. Report approaching abeam South of DUMAGUIT PORT.
2. Fly eastward towards BASIAO.
3. Continue towards TALON.
4. Request clearance to cross midfield to join left downwind RWY 14 or proceed as instructed by ATC.

From the Southeast

1. Report approaching BALASAN.
2. Continue flying on a northwesterly direction towards PILAR.
3. Proceed towards JAMUL-AWON.
4. Request clearance to join right downwind RWY 32 or proceed as instructed by ATC.
